FALL FESTIVAL TIME IN GRAND LEDGE

PHOTOS FROM THE SECOND WEEKEND IN

  OCTOBER
  2003

On the second weekend of October each year, Grand Ledge holds my favorite of all the local festivals our community puts on.  It is called the Fall Color Cruise & Island Festival. Normally it takes place on Island Park, but in 2003, the island was under repair, so Fitzgerald Park, and its wonderful staff, stepped in to host the annual event.  And what a great year it was.  In twenty years of participation, I have never seen both the color and the weather cooperate for three full days of veritable perfection.  Though you cannot experience here the smells, the sounds, and the camaraderie which brings so much to this gathering, come at least and enjoy the visual.  Then, if you are close enough to come by, be sure not to miss it when it comes around again.  It is worth the trip, for a great time.
