The very first william's picture of the week  appeared November 7, 2011 (above).  That shot had just been taken the day before.  The second week, this picture (right) from 2008 was unusual in that it was a vertical image.  I typically try to stay with horizontal photos because of the size (pixels) needed, especially for the 1600 page.  Selections are made from throughout my inventory, often from what I happen to be working on just then.  Otherwise, I will look for something that is from about the same time of year as the week in which the picture will appear on my site.
